Half gone.. soon

Borrowing the title of an interesting book about the fast diminishing oil reserves for this blog. Although half my allotted time has past I have resolved to continue this programme until I hit my goal of 90kg. However, I am pleased to say that people are beginning to say I have lost weight. Have started to notice and comment which is good motivation. That and off course a good friend of mine who gave me a backhanded compliment by saying that "you no longer look like Buddha". Now looking like Buddha in the spiritual realm is something to be proud of but here in the material world (no reference to Madonna) it is not quite so good.

My metabolic rate has continued to slow a little but given the fact that I have been dead tired and not doing exercise for the last week I am not surprised. Today I took a step closer to the gym.. Then thought no and turned around and went home and cooked a steak. But tomorrow.. I will be there.. Or it will be the skipping rope and the medicine ball when I get home. Right now the only exercise I am getting is strumming the guitar as I learn the first few chords ..somehow I think I burn more calories gritting my teeth getting it wrong than actually plucking. Having said that progress is good. I am now clearly striking three different chords and am practicing going between E5 A5 and erm.. The other one. The goal here is to be able to play a recognizable tune by Christmas.
